　　This year’s Chinese New Year was a very special one for me. I spent it in my hometown, where I haven’t been able to celebrate the festival for a few years due to my busy schedule.

　　On the eve of Chinese New Year’s Day, I helped my parents clean the house and prepare for the big feast. After we finished our dinner, we sat in the living room, watching the Spring Festival Gala on TV. The fire crackers outside made a loud noise, but I enjoyed the festive atmosphere.

　　The next morning, I woke up early and put on my new clothes. My parents gave me and my siblings ang pao, or red envelopes with money inside, which is a traditional custom during Chinese New Year.
